Privacy Policy

Last updated

November 24, 2025

Your privacy is important to PaladinTV. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and protect it, and your rights regarding this information. PaladinTV is committed to using your data responsibly and transparently. We collect only the minimal personal data necessary to provide our services, and we do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or profit . We also do not track your behavior or viewing activity on third-party services – our goal is to deliver your subscription access, not to monitor your usage. Please read this Policy carefully. By using PaladinTV, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this Privacy Policy.

  1. Information We Collect

1. Information You Provide Directly: When you create a PaladinTV account or subscribe to our service, we collect certain personal information from you:

  • Account Information: You will provide a name (or username) and an email address when registering. We use your email as a unique login identifier and to communicate with you about your subscription. You may also set a password for your account (which is stored in a hashed, secure form).

  • Subscription and Payment Information: When you subscribe, you provide payment details (such as credit or debit card information) through our payment processor, Stripe. PaladinTV itself does not receive or store your full credit card number or bank details – that information is submitted directly to Stripe via secure payment forms . PaladinTV does receive and store limited payment metadata, such as your transaction ID, the card type and last four digits, the subscription plan you chose, and the billing status (e.g., payment successful or failed). We keep records of your subscription purchases (dates and amounts) for billing history and customer support.

  • Profile and Preferences: (If applicable) You may have the option to provide additional profile details or set preferences in your account (for example, saving a preferred display language or content category preferences). Providing this information is optional.

  • Communications and Support: If you contact us for support or with inquiries (via email, support ticket, or phone), we will collect the information you choose to provide in that correspondence. This may include your contact information (like email or phone number) and a description of your issue or question. We will retain such communications as needed to assist you and improve our services.

We do not require or intentionally collect any sensitive personal information such as social security numbers, government IDs, or biometric data. Please refrain from submitting such data on our platform.

2. Information Collected Automatically: When you use the PaladinTV website or app, certain technical information may be collected automatically:

  • Device and Log Information: Our systems may automatically log basic information about your device and usage of our site. This can include your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, the pages or screens you access on our site, and the dates/times of access. We use this information primarily for security, debugging, and service quality purposes – for example, to monitor for suspicious login attempts or to optimize our website for common device types. We do not use these logs to track your behavior across other sites, and log data is generally not tied to your identity except as needed to ensure service integrity.

  • Cookies and Similar Technologies: PaladinTV uses a minimal set of cookies or similar technologies to enable core functionality. For instance, when you log in, we may place an authentication cookie to keep you signed in as you navigate our site. These cookies are typically “session” cookies that expire when you log out or shortly thereafter. We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or web beacons to profile your activity. We do not use third-party tracking services on our user portal. (See “Cookies and Tracking” below for more details.)

Importantly, PaladinTV does not monitor or collect information about your activity within the third-party media services that you access through our platform. For example, we do not track what specific movies, channels, or content you view on those third-party services. Any viewing information or history on those services remains with the third-party provider, not PaladinTV.

3. Information from Third Parties: We may receive a limited amount of personal information from third-party sources in the following scenarios:

  • Payment Processor: After you complete a payment via Stripe, Stripe may provide us with confirmation details (e.g., that a payment was successful, the type of card used, subscription start date) so that we can activate your service. This can include an internal customer ID from Stripe or a payment status. We do not receive your card number or banking credentials from Stripe . (See “Third-Party Services” below for more on Stripe.)

  • Authentication Providers: (If applicable) If we offer social or single-sign-on login options (for example, “Sign in with Google”), and you choose to use them, we would receive from that provider basic account information to authenticate you (such as your name, email, and an authentication token). PaladinTV does not collect more from these providers than needed to log you in.

  • Referral or Marketing Partners: We currently do not share data with or receive personal data from marketing partners. If that ever changes (for instance, if we run a referral program in cooperation with another company), we will update this policy accordingly.

PaladinTV does not purchase personal data from data brokers or engage in third-party marketing data collection. The information we have about you is primarily the information you provide to us and data generated through your direct interactions with PaladinTV.

  1. How We Use Your Information

PaladinTV uses the collected information to operate, provide, and improve our services. Specifically, we use personal data for the following purposes:

  • To Provide the Service: We use your information to create and maintain your account, to process your subscriptions and payments, and to enable you to access the third-party media services you’ve subscribed to. For example, we use your email and password to authenticate you at login, and we use your subscription info to determine which third-party service credentials to deliver to you. We also use your email to send you your access credentials or setup instructions for third-party services after purchase (since PaladinTV itself does not host content, we often need to communicate separate login details or activation steps for the third-party platform).

  • To Communicate with You: We use your email address (and/or phone number, if provided for support) to send necessary communications. This includes transactional emails such as purchase confirmations, receipts, and renewal notices. We may also send you service-related announcements (for example, notices of maintenance downtime, changes to your account, password reset emails, or important updates about third-party service availability). These service communications are not promotional in nature and are necessary for us to fulfill our obligations. If you contact us with a question or support issue, we will use your provided information to respond and resolve your issue.

  • Customer Support and Account Management: Information you provide in support requests is used to help troubleshoot problems and improve your experience. We might also use your data (like your subscription status or support history) to offer you effective customer service. For instance, if you have an ongoing issue accessing a third-party service, we will reference your account details to investigate.

  • Service Improvement: PaladinTV may use aggregated, non-personal data about how our users interact with our site (for example, overall sign-up rates or general usage patterns) to analyze and improve our services. These analytics, if done, would be conducted on de-identified data. Internally, we might review log data to monitor the stability and performance of our platform (e.g., to detect outages or errors). We do not use personal usage data for behavioral analytics or profiling – any analysis is generally at a broad level (such as “what percentage of users redeemed a certain offer”) and not focused on individual behavior.

  • Security and Fraud Prevention: We process certain information to maintain the security of our platform and of your account. For example, we might use IP addresses and other identifiers to detect potential fraudulent or unauthorized login attempts. We also may use your information to investigate violations of our Terms of Service or usage that may be illegal (such as account sharing or content piracy), and to enforce our Terms.

  • Legal Compliance: If necessary, we will use and disclose personal information to comply with our legal obligations. For instance, to satisfy tax and accounting requirements, we retain records of payments. Also, if we receive a lawful subpoena or court order, we may be required to provide data as mandated by law (see “Disclosure of Information” below for details).

We will not use your personal information for any purpose that is materially different from the purposes described in this Privacy Policy without your consent. We do not use your data for advertising targeting or for selling to data brokers. If we ever decide to process personal information for a new purpose that is incompatible with the original purpose for which it was collected, we will notify you and obtain any required consent or give you the opportunity to opt-out.

  1. Disclosure of Information to Third Parties

PaladinTV does not sell or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing or commercial uses . We only share your information in limited circumstances, outlined below, and always with safeguards to protect your data:

  • Service Providers: We employ a few trusted third-party companies to facilitate the PaladinTV service or perform functions on our behalf – for example, payment processing and backend hosting. These service providers only receive the information necessary to perform their specific services for us. They are contractually obligated to use your information solely to provide services to PaladinTV and not for any other purpose, and they must protect your data to at least the same standards we do. The key service providers we use are:

    • Stripe (Payment Processor): When you make a purchase, Stripe processes your payment information. Stripe will collect your payment card details and process the transaction on our behalf. PaladinTV does not see your full card number or financial account data, though we may receive a token or ID that represents your account in Stripe’s system. Stripe may also have your billing name and ZIP/postal code as needed for card verification. Stripe’s use of your personal data (as a processor and, in some cases, as a controller for its own fraud prevention obligations) is governed by Stripe’s Privacy Policy. For more details, you can review Stripe’s privacy notice here: ** **. Notably, Stripe is a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment provider (the highest level of payment data security) , which means your card information is handled with a high standard of care. PaladinTV shares data with Stripe (and Stripe with us) only as needed to process payments, handle subscriptions, and address billing inquiries.

    • Supabase (Hosting and Database): PaladinTV uses Supabase as our application backend and database hosting platform. In essence, Supabase stores our application data (including your personal data) on our behalf. Your account information (name, email, hashed password, subscription status, etc.) resides in databases hosted by Supabase. Supabase acts as a data processor, meaning it handles data according to our instructions. Supabase is a reputable platform that implements strong security measures – for example, all customer data stored with Supabase is encrypted at rest and in transit . Supabase is also SOC 2 Type II compliant (an audited security standard) . We have a Data Processing Addendum in place with Supabase to ensure they protect user data and only process it for providing the PaladinTV service. (Supabase might incidentally sub-process data via its infrastructure providers like AWS or Google Cloud, but those providers are similarly obligated to maintain security and confidentiality.)

    • Other Vendors: In the course of operating the service, we may also use additional vendors for specific functionalities: for instance, an email service provider to send out newsletters or support responses, or a customer support ticketing system to manage help requests. Any such vendors will similarly be bound to use personal data only under our instructions. We will update this Policy to reflect any significant changes in our use of processors.

  • Third-Party Media Services: If required to fulfill our service, we might share minimal necessary data with the third-party media service providers to set up or manage your access. For example, if PaladinTV’s business model involves creating an account for you on a third-party media platform, we may provide that provider with your name and email to register the account (often this is done via automated means or APIs). We will only do this with providers that you are subscribing to via our platform. Additionally, when you use those third-party services, they may collect their own data about you (such as viewing habits or IP address); any such data collection is under their control and covered by their privacy policies, not PaladinTV’s. PaladinTV does not routinely exchange your personal data with third parties except as needed to deliver the service you signed up for.

  • Legal Compliance and Protection: PaladinTV may disclose personal information as required by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) comply with a legal obligation or respond to valid legal process (e.g. subpoenas, court orders) ; (b) protect and defend the rights, property, or safety of PaladinTV, our customers, or others ; (c) investigate or assist in preventing any violation of law or our Terms of Service (such as fraud or security issues) ; or (d) as otherwise required or permitted by law. If we receive a government or law enforcement request for user data, we will review it carefully and only comply if legally compelled (and we will attempt to inform the affected user if permitted).

  • Business Transfers: If PaladinTV is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing due diligence, reorganization, bankruptcy, receivership, sale of company assets, or transition of service to another provider, your personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We would ensure any successor entity honors the commitments in this Privacy Policy or provides you notice and an opportunity to opt-out of any material changes. For example, if another company acquires PaladinTV or its assets, your information would likely be one of the transferred assets so that the service can continue, but your data will remain subject to the protections and rights outlined here.

Aside from the purposes described above, PaladinTV will not disclose your personal information to any third party. We do not rent or trade email lists or other user info. We do not share information with advertisers (PaladinTV currently carries no third-party advertising). We value your trust and strive to keep your data only with those parties that need it to serve you.

  1. Cookies and Tracking

PaladinTV’s use of cookies and similar tracking technologies is limited and privacy-focused. Here is what you need to know about our approach:

  • Essential Cookies: We use cookies or local storage strictly for essential service functionality, such as to keep you logged in during your session or to remember certain preferences (like language settings). For example, after you authenticate, our site sets a secure session cookie so you can navigate between pages without needing to log in again on each page. These cookies are typically first-party (set by PaladinTV) and temporary. They do not contain sensitive personal data in plain text – often just a unique session identifier. You cannot opt-out of these essential cookies if you want to use the service, as they are necessary for site operation. However, they are only used for that technical purpose.

  • No Analytics or Advertising Cookies: PaladinTV does not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies that monitor your behavior over time. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar marketing trackers on our user-facing site. This means we are not collecting click-stream data, viewing history, or other usage profiling information through cookies. We also do not serve ads, so we have no need for ad targeting cookies. Your interactions with PaladinTV are essentially invisible to third-party trackers to the best of our control.

  • Do Not Track: Because we do not engage in cross-site tracking, our site’s behavior is effectively aligned with “Do Not Track” (DNT) principles. If your browser sends a DNT signal, we do not change any collection (since we already only collect what’s necessary). While there is no standard interpretation of DNT signals, we want to emphasize that we do not track your browsing across other websites or services in any case.

  • Cookies on Third-Party Services: Note that when you use the third-party media services accessed via PaladinTV, those services may employ their own cookies or tracking technologies (for example, a streaming service might track your watch history or use cookies for authentication on their platform). PaladinTV does not control the cookies or tracking technologies of third-party providers, and this Privacy Policy does not cover the practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy and cookie policies of any third-party services you utilize through PaladinTV to understand how they collect and use data. PaladinTV’s role is isolated to our own domain and app; once you are on a third-party platform, that platform’s rules apply.

In summary, PaladinTV’s philosophy is to minimize tracking. We use cookies sparingly and only to give you a smooth, secure user experience. We do not engage in behavioral tracking or personalized advertising. If you have any questions about specific cookies or scripts used on our site, please contact us.

  1. Data Security

PaladinTV takes the security of your personal information seriously. We implement a variety of administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Our security measures include:

  • Encryption: All communications between your browser/app and PaladinTV are encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. This means personal data (like your login credentials or any personal details) is transmitted securely over the internet. Additionally, the personal information we store in our database (hosted on Supabase) is protected—Supabase encrypts customer data at rest using strong encryption (AES-256), and data is encrypted in transit to and from their servers . Sensitive fields (such as password hashes or API keys) are further protected.

  • Access Controls: We restrict access to personal data within our organization strictly to those employees, contractors, or processors who need it to operate or improve the service. For example, our support staff can view your account details to help with an issue, but they would not have access to your full payment information (which we never see) or your password (which is encrypted). Supabase and other infrastructure providers are also limited in accessing data except for legitimate maintenance or on our instructions. We employ measures like role-based access control and authentication requirements for any administrative access.

  • Password Protection: User passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing algorithms (never in plain text). If you create a PaladinTV password, it is processed in a way that we cannot directly read it; we can only verify it when you log in. We also encourage you to choose strong, unique passwords and may implement additional security features like two-factor authentication (2FA) to further secure access.

  • Monitoring and Testing: Our team regularly monitors the platform for security issues. We keep our software and dependencies up-to-date with security patches. We utilize security tools and best practices (such as firewalls, secure coding standards, and periodic vulnerability scans or penetration testing) to identify and address potential vulnerabilities. Supabase, as our hosting platform, undergoes independent security audits and maintains certifications (e.g., SOC 2) , adding another layer of trust to our environment. Stripe, as mentioned, is PCI-certified for payment security.

  • Backup and Recovery: We back up our database regularly (via Supabase’s managed backup solutions) to ensure that your data is not lost. Backups are encrypted and stored securely. In case of any data incident or corruption, we have the ability to restore data from these backups. We also have monitoring to alert us of abnormal conditions that could indicate a security incident or data integrity issue.

Despite all these precautions, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. However, we can assure you that we will continuously update and refine our security practices. In the unlikely event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law, and we will take all reasonable steps to mitigate the impact.

To further protect yourself, please keep your PaladinTV account credentials confidential and notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account.

  1. Your Rights and Choices

You have certain rights and choices regarding your personal information. PaladinTV respects these rights and has processes in place to enable you to exercise them. The following is an overview of your rights, which may vary depending on your jurisdiction (for instance, California residents and EU citizens have specific rights, described below):

  • Access and Portability: You have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and to obtain it in a commonly used, machine-readable format. This helps you to review the data and even transfer it to another service (this is sometimes called the right to data portability) . For example, you can ask us to confirm whether we’re processing your personal data and provide you with a copy of your account details and transaction history.

  • Correction (Rectification): We strive to keep your information accurate and up-to-date. If you believe that any personal information we have about you is incorrect or incomplete, you have the right to request that we correct or update it . For instance, you can change your email or update your name by contacting support if our user settings do not allow it directly.

  • Deletion (Right to be Forgotten): You have the right to request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions . If you no longer want PaladinTV to have your data, you can ask that we delete your account and personal info. We will honor such requests to the extent we are not legally required or have a legitimate business need to retain the information (for example, we might retain proof of transactions for accounting purposes, or keep information needed to resolve disputes or detect fraud) . When we delete data upon request, we will remove it from active databases and, where feasible, from backups.

  • Withdrawal of Consent: In cases where we rely on your consent to process your personal data (for instance, if you opted in to receive an optional newsletter or allowed us to use certain cookies), you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time . Withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing we conducted prior to your withdrawal, and it will not affect processing that is not based on consent (for example, processing necessary to provide the service or based on legitimate interests).

  • Objection and Restriction: You have the right to object to certain processing of your data or ask us to restrict processing. For example, you can object to processing that we undertake based on our “legitimate interests” (if you believe it impacts your rights) or request that we not use your data for a purpose beyond what is necessary. You can also request that we temporarily limit processing of your data (for instance, while you contest the accuracy of the data or the lawfulness of processing). We will review such requests and honor them if required by applicable law. Note that because PaladinTV does not engage in much beyond core service processing, these situations are likely rare – but the rights are available to you.

  • Non-Discrimination: PaladinTV will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights. This means we will not deny you service, charge you different prices, or provide a lesser quality of service because you exercised your rights under any privacy law (such as CCPA) . Your experience with PaladinTV will remain the same whether or not you choose to exercise privacy rights. If certain data is necessary for the service (e.g., an email for login), we might not be able to provide the service without it – but we will never retaliate or punish you for making a privacy request.

These rights may be subject to certain limitations and exceptions under applicable laws. For example, we cannot provide data that contains legal privilege or would compromise others’ privacy, and we may decline requests that are unreasonably repetitive or jeopardize the security of our systems.

How to Exercise Your Rights: To exercise any of your rights, please contact us at privacy@paladintv.com with your request. We will need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests (to ensure that, for example, we do not delete or disclose someone else’s data improperly). Verification might involve confirming control of your email or other information. We will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe and in accordance with applicable law (typically within 30 days for most rights requests, and within 45 days for California access/deletion requests, with an extension if necessary). There is generally no fee for making a request, though if a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive (e.g., repetitive), we may charge a reasonable fee or refuse to act on it.

Authorized Agents: If you are a California resident, the CCPA allows you to designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf. If you send an agent to exercise your rights, we will require proof that you gave the agent signed permission to submit a request, and we may still ask you to verify your identity directly.

Below, we include additional information specific to certain jurisdictions, such as California and the European Economic Area, which provide further clarity on your rights under local laws.

  1. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a resident of California, you have specific privacy rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). In accordance with California law, we provide the following additional details:

Categories of Personal Information Collected: In the preceding 12 months, PaladinTV has collected (from users themselves) the following categories of personal information, as defined by CCPA: identifiers (such as real name, email address, and IP address), commercial information (subscription records and payment history), and internet/electronic activity information (limited to log data and device information as described, not browsing history or content consumption) . We do not collect protected classifications, biometric information, geolocation (beyond general IP-based location), sensory data, professional or education information, or inferences about preferences. All personal information we collect is used to provide and support our services (the business purposes described in this Policy), such as account creation, processing payments, and customer service.

Categories of Personal Information Disclosed for Business Purposes: We may disclose your personal information to service providers or other processors for legitimate business purposes. In the last 12 months, we have disclosed identifiers (name, email) and commercial information (subscription details) to our service providers (like Stripe and Supabase) in order to operate the service . We do not disclose your personal information to third parties for any purposes other than those outlined in this Policy (which are considered “business purposes” under CCPA). We do not disclose sensitive personal information except insofar as payment card info goes to Stripe (which is necessary to perform the service and not used for other purposes).

“Sale” or “Sharing” of Personal Information: Under CCPA’s broad definitions, “selling” includes disclosing personal info to third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration, and “sharing” refers to providing personal info for cross-context behavioral advertising. PaladinTV does not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising . We haven’t sold or shared any California consumer’s personal data in the past 12 months. Because we do not sell or share personal info in the CCPA sense, we do not include a “Do Not Sell or Share” opt-out link on our site. We also do not knowingly sell/share personal data of anyone under 16.

California Consumer Rights: As a California resident, you have the rights listed in the Your Rights and Choices section above. Specifically, CCPA ensures:

  • Right to Know: You may request that we disclose the specific pieces and/or categories of personal information we have collected about you, the categories of sources, the business purposes for which we collect or disclose it, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it . Upon verification of your request, we will provide the information covering the 12 months prior to your request (or beyond, if allowed).

  • Right to Delete: You may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you . As noted, we will do so unless retention is necessary for us or our service providers to complete a transaction you requested, comply with a legal obligation, detect security incidents, or other exceptions under CCPA.

  • Right to Correct: You may request that we correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you (taking into account the nature of the information and purposes of processing).

  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale/Sharing: As stated, we do not sell or share personal information, so this right is not applicable except to reaffirm that we honor it by not engaging in those practices.

  • Right to Limit Use of Sensitive PI: PaladinTV does not collect or use “sensitive personal information” (as defined by CPRA) for any purpose that would trigger this right. We only use sensitive data (payment info) for the service requested, which is considered a necessary business purpose.

  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights .

To exercise your California rights, you can contact us at privacy@paladintv.com with “CCPA Request” in the subject line and state the specifics of your request (access, deletion, etc.). We will verify and respond as required by law. If you prefer, you may send us a written request to our mailing address (see Contact Us section), but email is typically faster.

  1. International Users and GDPR Compliance

PaladinTV is based in the United States, but we recognize that individuals in other countries (such as those in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Canada, etc.) may access our service. We aim to handle personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where relevant.

Legal Bases for Processing: If you are in a region governed by GDPR (EEA, UK, etc.), we must have a legal basis to process your personal data. PaladinTV processes personal data on the following bases:

  • Performance of a Contract: Most of our data processing is to provide you with the service you requested under our Terms of Service – this is considered contractual necessity . For example, using your email to create your account and send credentials, or processing payments, is done to fulfill our obligations to you as a subscriber. Without this data, we cannot provide the core service.

  • Legitimate Interests: We may process data as needed for our legitimate interests, provided those are not overridden by your data protection rights. Our legitimate interests include maintaining the security of our platform, improving our services, preventing fraud, and communicating with you about product updates or similar information. For instance, using log data to detect misuse or sending a service improvement survey (sparingly) could fall under this basis. We will always consider your rights and expectations; for example, we do not engage in invasive profiling or marketing without consent.

  • Legal Obligation: Some processing is required to comply with laws – e.g., maintaining records for tax, responding to lawful requests by authorities, or honoring data subject rights requests.

  • Consent: If we ever seek to process certain data for optional purposes, we will obtain your consent. For example, if we wanted to send promotional emails to a user in Europe, we would do so only if the user has opted in. You have the right to withdraw consent at any time (which will not affect processing already done). In general, our service does not heavily rely on consent because our practices are geared toward necessary processing.

International Data Transfers: Personal data collected by PaladinTV will be primarily processed in the United States. If you are accessing PaladinTV from outside the U.S., please be aware that your information will be transferred to and stored on servers in the United States or other jurisdictions where our service providers are located. The data protection laws in these countries may differ from those in your home country. However, we will take steps to ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your personal data in accordance with this Privacy Policy. For example, when we transfer personal data from the EEA/UK to the U.S., we rely on legal transfer mechanisms such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or other approved measures to ensure an adequate level of data protection. Our contract with Supabase includes EU SCCs for data hosting; likewise, Stripe’s terms include appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

By using PaladinTV or providing us with your information, you consent to the transfer of your personal data to the United States (and potentially other countries) for the purposes described in this Policy. We will ensure that any third-party processors handling international data transfers on our behalf have committed to compliance frameworks (e.g., SCCs, Privacy Shield legacy commitments, etc.) as applicable. If you have questions about our transfer mechanisms, you can contact us for more information.

GDPR Data Subject Rights: If you are an individual in the EEA, UK, or similar jurisdictions, you generally have the same rights outlined in Your Rights and Choices, including the right to access, rectify, or delete your data, the right to restrict or object to processing, and the right to data portability . You also have the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling, which produces legal or similarly significant effects – PaladinTV does not engage in such automated decision-making.

Additionally, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a Data Protection Authority (DPA) or supervisory authority if you believe we have infringed your data protection rights. For example, EU users can contact their country’s supervisory authority; UK users can reach out to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). We would, however, appreciate the chance to address your concerns directly before you do so – you can contact us using the details in Contact Us.

We will accommodate your rights requests in line with GDPR. For instance, if you request deletion, we will also endeavor to inform any third-party processors who have your data to delete it as well (unless this proves impossible or involves disproportionate effort).

Children’s Data: The GDPR (and other laws like UK’s or COPPA in the US) has strict rules about collecting data from children. We address this in the next section, but in short: PaladinTV is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly process data of children.

  1. Children’s Privacy

PaladinTV’s services are not intended for or directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 years old. If you are under 13, please do not attempt to register for PaladinTV or send any personal data about yourself to us. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take prompt steps to delete that information from our records.

For teenagers between 13 and 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), PaladinTV should be used only with the involvement and consent of a parent or guardian. We encourage parents/guardians to supervise their children’s online activities and to help enforce this Privacy Policy by instructing their children never to provide personal information on this service without permission.

If you are a parent or guardian and you believe that we might have any information from or about a child under 13, please contact us immediately at privacy@paladintv.com. We will take appropriate steps to investigate and address the issue, including deleting the data if applicable.

Note: Certain third-party media services accessible via PaladinTV may have their own age restrictions or parental controls. For example, the content on those services might not be suitable for minors, or accounts might be restricted to adults. PaladinTV users are responsible for ensuring that only eligible individuals (of appropriate age) use the credentials and services provided. PaladinTV disclaims liability for unauthorized use by minors – but we reiterate our commitment not to knowingly facilitate such use.

  1. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law . Here’s how we approach retention:

  • Active Account Data: For as long as you maintain an active subscription or account with PaladinTV, we will keep your personal information on file. This is necessary to provide you with the service (e.g., to keep your account credentials, subscription status, and service access information intact).

  • Closed Accounts: If you decide to cancel your subscription or delete your account, we will initiate the process of deleting or anonymizing your personal data. In general, we aim to remove most user-identifiable information within 30 days of account deletion (barring the exceptions below). Some data may persist slightly longer in our secure backups until those backups rotate out. We may retain a record of your email or transaction history in a suppressed form to ensure we honor opt-outs and for anti-fraud purposes (for example, to prevent re-signups under banned accounts), but we will not use that data for any new purposes.

  • Legal and Operational Necessity: Even after you delete your account or cease being an active user, PaladinTV may retain certain information as needed for legitimate business interests or legal compliance. Examples include:

    • Payment and Transaction Records: We may retain invoicing information, payment transaction records, and related accounting data for the duration required by tax law or financial regulations (often 7 years or as mandated) . This is to maintain accurate financial records and comply with audit requirements.

    • Customer Support Logs: If you had a customer support issue, we might keep correspondence or notes until the issue is fully resolved and for a reasonable period thereafter, in case it recurs or for quality assurance.

    • Security and Prevention: We may retain data necessary for detecting, investigating, and preventing security incidents or fraud. For instance, we might keep logs of IP addresses associated with significant security events or abusive use to help us identify patterns or block bad actors.

    • Legal Claims or Proceedings: If we are involved in a dispute or if retention is necessary to meet legal obligations (such as preserving evidence), we will keep the relevant data until the matter is resolved or the legal hold is lifted.

When personal information is no longer needed, we will either delete it or anonymize it (so that it can no longer be associated with you). For example, we might aggregate usage data so it’s not tied to any user, or replace identifying details with placeholders in historical records.

Backup retention: Note that our database backups may store snapshots of your data for some time (commonly, encrypted backups are retained on a daily/weekly schedule up to a certain number of days). If we delete or correct data, it may not immediately be removed from archived backups, but we have processes to eventually purge or destroy old backups in the normal course of business. We will not restore personal data from backups except in legitimate recovery scenarios.

Overall, we aim to retain your personal data for no longer than necessary. If you have specific questions about our data retention practices (for example, how long we keep server logs, etc.), feel free to contact us for more detail.
